Secret Santa

Currently in Int Med posting (last posting)!!! and i felt so insecure to graduate out and be responsible to all the patients. Sigh. Anyway... Mira, our dedicated Int Med leader organized Secret Santa for the group. To add in a little memory and some fun into the boring life dealing with endless portfolio. haha~

So unlike Secret Santa that i played several years ago which we gathered all the present, label and pick lots. This time, we know who is our "children" but we do not know the santa. So yea... it is good in someway where you wont buy a bra for a guy or playboy series for a girl. haha~

I just get my gift from my secret santa... I think he is my doctor ba...Patients details. Name: Tan Ying Xin. swt swt... lol. My god. This is actually a corner of our blue sheets. haha~ Creative desu~

and damn... blue sheets, portfolio and houseman interview are attacking me non-stop. NOOOOOOO... swt. ok. i should stop being drama. continue to do my portfolio... *robotmode*

Oh... thank you secret santa. =D

Country Home Taste, Batu Pahat

I took the advice and trying to fill my tummy with nice food so I wont be that emo. Really, looking back, I feel like Batu Pahat is not productive at all to me. =/ So I am still kind of lost now even I am third month here and going to sit for my finals. sigh... Nevermind. Lets enjoy some good food with your eyes. =D

Country Home Taste, it is a fusion restaurant. They sell western food, normal chinese dish and seafood too.

I always order 2 things there:

The fruit juice!!!
RM2.00 for 250ml (my approximate), RM 3.00 for the above and RM 4.00 for the large. I always order the medium size cause they come with fruit cubes!!! really 2-3 pieces of fruit cubes with 100% of juices. Yum Yum!!! I am pretty rigid... so i only order either watermelon or honeydew. RM0.50 for adding milk. =) *slurp*

Left side is carrot milk with watermelon cube and right side is honeydew milk with honeydew cube.

Too bad they do not have papaya. If not i will visit it everyday just for the papaya milk!! hee hee. =)

The other must-order dish is Gong Bao Sotong rice RM5.50 per plate.
It is actually quite worth it. They serve the biggest and juiciest sotong that i ever have. =)) plus they are not stingy with their sotong. Love love. =) I think my cholesterol is shooting up since I reach Batu Pahat cause nice food is usually equal to unhealthy food. But this plate of Gong Bao Sotong is really irresistible. LOL.

Pure little heart

Was in the paediatric clinic a few days ago and I met this girl that touch my soul deeply. She has mild learning disabilities. She talks at a very slow pace but you can see that she has a very strong desire to communicate with people around her. She is very friendly (not the uncomfortable type) and she can talk non-stop (that one really beats me).

She speaks in Malay and English. She is quite well verse (for me la). So we are asking her what is her ambition?

"Cita-cita saya ialah jadi seorang doktor."

When we heard it, we are like ooooooooohhh.... does not know how to respond to her.

"Saya nak jadi doktor kerana jika mama, atuk, papa, adik sakit. Saya boleh jaga mereka."

She is so THOUGHTFUL and SWEET!!!!

I am not sure for other people but for me sometime in the middle of pursuing my dreams i sort of forget why i m there for. I feel lost. I feel depressed. I feel dark clouds covering all over the shining sun. This girl who is pure in heart reminds me of the reason i choose this career. She shows me what is the initial intention. Yes, it is just simple. Not to save the world but just to have the knowledge so that whoever that is around me fall sick I can tend to them (of course they must agree to it also la). haha~ lol

Thanks sweet girl. =)

Getting used to Batu Pahat,

Hello..... Mr? Miss?

My life is filled with portfolio. Currently is writing on first paediatric portfolio. The case is quite straight forward, just that there is tonnes of little stuffs here and there. =/

It is really tough to be a hollistic doctor. sigh.

Ok. So i have an argument last week in Legoland. We are queuing up for The Dragon. It is in a castle and filled with portraits made out of lego.

We came over this one particular lego portraits and three of us have huge argument.

Me: This lady is old and cachexic.
A: What? it is not a lady. It is a guy!!!
Me: No. It is a lady. Where got guy put lipstick?
A: It is not lipstick. It is natural lips color. If you dun put lips red in color, what color you want to put o?
Me: But she also has eye shadow?
A: No!!! It is definitely a GUY!!! He is wearing a guy's costume. You google and you will find guys wearing this costume.
Me: =.= Fine!!! C, so is this a WOMAN or a GUY?????!!!
C: It is both. He is a bontan (guys who dress up or behave like a girl).
A and Me: =.= =.= =.= =.= =.=

So, you guys tell me. Is this a LADY or a GUY?

Definitely a lady k???

Tamago Gohan

For the last few months, came over this recipe that several bloggers said it is very nice and easy to make.

It is a breakfast, snack and meal for the Japanese. Tamago means eggs. Gohan means rice. So thats the ingredients that are involved.

I google up the recipe and comment. sure enough everybody is praising and saying how nutrition this food can be... so ok lo. the lazy me said lets try.

1 bowl of newly cooked rice
1 egg (I beria-ria somemore to go supermaket and buy the most expensive egg available. Scare i will get salmonella if i dont do that).
Some soy sauce.

So it is real easy. You take the hot bowl of peeping hot rice, break the egg over the rice. add in some soy sauce. Mix it......

Tadaaaa... can eat liao.

I expecting something heavenly that will make me fly into the sky.
Erm. Mine turns out like this. =( It is really marginally edible. It feels very squashy and bubllish. Yea. There is a  lot of air bubble and I m not  sure but i think mayb its my egg.... too large or my rice too little. the texture is really horrible. ><

So attempt fail. Trying to find tamago gohan in every single Japanese shop that i visit. so far cannot find any =( I want to try the authentic one first only i will know is my taste bud problem or is my skill problem
lol lol. haha.

Adding tamago gohan as my to-do-list in Japan. =) hopefully I can fly to Japan. =D and find the restaurant that specially sell Tamago gohan. Hoho~

Till then,
Busy doing paediatric portfolio

Bad habit

No leaving today homework to tomorrow. As there is many tomorrow but only one today. Until the designated tomorrow came.... you will be dead like me now. swt.  =( doing a lot of writing. I am really getting more and more hardworking since I came to IMU but no matter how hardworking I am. I still feel more and more ignorant.

Is it because my world is bigger now or is it me who is really getting more stupid? =O

Gambateh. Endure and work hard for your own good sake and for other people sake too. lol. Stop grumbling.

~grumpy YingXin as non stop writing for the pass 3 days~

High and low

The table in my batu pahat room is really giving me a huge headache (or backache and neckache). Having very bad neckache and backache since i came back here!!!!! (recurrent!!!) or is my back and neck allergy to Batu Pahat.

Grrrr... i dun have any of those problem when I m in seremban. so i think is the table problem. not my posture problem.

Having backache and neckache not only affect me mentally but it reduces my motivation to study and do homework, DRASTICALLY. Do not want to have anything to do with that table. Eg. Study, writing and even using the laptop!!!!! Feel like throwing that table away (but it is the only table that i can use) or i should just slump by my bedside and do my work?

Sigh.... This shows how important a good table and chair with a synchronize height is. Not one must be taller or shorter than the other.

2 months here and I have finish 10 strips of analgesia patch. Not included days which i op for "bear it" treatment as the analgesic patch  has a very strong smell.

I miss my home in Seremban. =( i miss the table and chair there. Why we cant appreciate things until we lost it?

~GrumpyYingXin with a painful neck and back~

The car is so classy. something that I always link to pretty sexy lady with a mole near her lips going to some function. lol.

Received a very contrast card from Erin. =) Let me show how contrast is it.

The front part if Wreigley Field, a good place to watch baseball game according to Erin. So baseball is all macho and about speed.

Then when i flip to the back....
Taaaaaaaaadaaaaaa!!!! The stamp is so damn cute isnt it? The Monster Inc, Incredibles. *lovelove*

Another 2 are very ancient stamp. haha~ feel so bless to participate in postcrossing. I get to send a lot of postcards and received a lot of pretty postcards and also nice stamps.

Thank you Erin.

Yours sincerely,
Ying Xin

Such a cute card bringing a lot of good wishes. =)

Thank you. =) Truly appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Greeting from Indonesia =)

This very calming and pretty postcard from Juned, Pagor (Kota Hujan). Pagor is situated at the south of Jakarta.

The postcard featured Pangandaran, a popular tourist destination. It is located at the southern coast of Java. =))

Didnt heard of it but it looks like a good place to go for those who loves beach. =D

Some very yummy stamps from Juned. =D Stamps featuring food!!!! OMG!!! I m not sure if Malaysia have one but it is a good idea to print out food on stamp. Since we have so much nice nice food such as nasi lemak, char kuey tiow and bak ku teh to share with the world. =)))

Somewhere you use a hammer to hit the rock

I have being in Batu Pahat for 2 and a half months now. Many things change and till now I am not sure if the changes are a good one or a bad one.

Most of the time feeling inadequate and insecure. =/ and i no longer enjoy leaving home. Last time I used to not wanting to go home but not now. Miss my home, my bed, my mummy, my daddy, a little bit of my bro, the trees, the food, my cupboard, the sofa and etc etc. Sigh....

So i feel really bless now to be at home. =) hee hee. and feel all comfy. tee hee. the computer at home doesnt give me backache and neckache like what my lappie did in batu pahat.

And my goal for this holiday is fill up logbook, tidy up blue sheets, correct portfolio (and also find the right way to write it. Boohoohoo =( i really dun like writing it. I spent time in writing it but it doesnt come back right. Maybe the method i used is wrong), hang out with mom, top up my wardrobe, try to update my blog as much as I can (i have millions of thing i didnt blog!!! hyperbola) and earn back my afternoon nap (having the worse dark circle i ever have now). =P

So far, thats all. Hope I grow. Learn to control my emotion better and be strong.

Happy Holiday everyone. Cant feel happier now for the holiday. =)))

Pretty pink tulips

I think this is the second square card that i have in my postcard collection. =) the whole card is all pinkish and girly and make you think that it is from a blooming flower (young girl). Haha. Yea. The sender is young!! =)

Hetty from Holland is 54 years young. Do you spot any difference? yea. years young!! this is the second person  who i met who address their age as young instead of old cause they are indeed very very young in heart. The first person is one of my prof who is 70 plus years old now and i bet he is as active as a leopard. haha~ =)

Thank you for the awesome some. You remind me that no matter how long have we live, as long as we are young in heart, there is nothing that we cannot do. =)

Cheer to youthfulness in heart. =)

Yours sincerely,
Ying Xin

p/s: red color tulip means undying love. =o so how about pink?

G'day from Australia

Here is a card from Deborah, Australia. She lives in Nerrigundah in the Aussie bush on the south east coast of Australia with a very small population of people about 60 people. She mentioned that it is a nice place to bring up children (father and mother can considered living with your precious children there. =))

There is also wallabies there, hopping around her garden.
Can you imagine such cute things hopping around freely in your garden. oooo. it is a heaven.

"All our cities in each state are on the coast, as the centre of Australia is a very harsh land where water is scarce. Most farmers properties out there are vast, measuring 1000 of hectares, children have to be home schooled. Our capital territory (Canberra) is the only city inland about two hours over mountains from the coast and about two hours north of our ski fields." Deborah, 2012.

Thank you for the beautiful card, stamp and the short introduction about australia. =))

Nice day.

Oh oh. i forget to take a picture. But on the top right of the postcard, there is a very cute stamps.
It is an opened envelope with a very cartoonish but cute ship in it. boo boo (smoke from chimney)~

Sushi Mentai Seremban

Initially, Seremban only has some random japanese restaurant that does not last long, I still remember the first time I enter a Japanese restaurant and order Udon when I am a kid, it just taste so horrible that i swear to my life that I wont ever eat any of it again. Yea... true... I dont eat Udon after that but i have grow fond towards Japanese food.

Sushi King appeared in Jusco Seremban 2. When there is nothing to eat and you are not exposed to more sushi shop, you will always think that sushi king is the BEST!! but after the last bonanza... i just hate sushi king for their quality is dropping. =(

Matsu used to be the only standard Japanese Restaurant in Seremban but i think the pricing is slightly ex... and it is getting more and more ex now. grrr.... but it got the right cause it provides good environment and the food is also quite good.

Then came Sushi Uptown... I havent try it since that incident of the horrible waitress nearly dropping the plates onto my dad, break the plates and totally forget my order and make my ordering a havoc but telling me the basic Ika, salmon and tamago is not in stock. zzzzzzzz....

Later, came Sushi Mentai.... If i did this post 2 months earlier, I did compliment it nonetheless. cause i really love Mentai and they provide mentai. lol. Let me said the good things about it first. =P

How it looks. At uptown Seremban 2. The first time I went is in July. Every plate of sushi on the belt is only RM2.30 (tax not included). Comparably cheaper than other sushi shop.
It has a branch in Batu Pahat. Hasnt visit it yet since everyday is like a working day and i m in my adjustment mode which means i will keep complaining, in depressed mode and non motivated. haha~ sorry for people around me.

The menu. =) quite pretty.

One thing i like about the sushi in Sushi Mentai is it is handmade. Like this:
Small, cute and tightly knitted. Not like Sushi King one sooooooooooo loose that it breaks at the moment my chopstick touch it. cis nya.

The sushi:
Top left (clockwise): Salmon sushi - quite fresh and yummy in July. but after that it sorts of getting thinner.=.=
Cheese roll with crabstick- not bad if you love chesse.
Unknown sushi object-I thought it is a fruit sushi but it turns out.... hm.... no comment.... funny taste but edible.
Unagi roll- haha. a bit too thin for me. I like the thick unagi roll. Taste is quite good.

Extra food:
Top Left (clockwise): Salmon roll- didnt see it at the third time i went. It just disappeared from the belt. God know how much I love Salmon especially salmon roll (the best one is in Jusco midvalley)
Tako- still midvalley Jusco has the best tako. But this one is so cute and they give us a lot of mayonnaise and topping that i sort of fall in love with it.... (only for the first 2 visits).
It is some Don- Not really nice. Only their sushi is up to standard. Their rice is too soft and sticky.
Endame- I LOVE THIS!!!!! =D anyway. who can go wrong with Endame??!!

The specialties of Sushi Mentai:
All are top with Mentai sauce. Once you tried it, you will fall in love with in. Everything goes well with Mentai. But sadly... after the first 2 visit... when i revisited it at September, the choice of mentai sushi has decrease... the varities are bad... I saw only 4-5 types of sushi on the belt. =/ the waitress are mostly impolite... ignoring us when we enter the shop.... leaving us there without menu for more than 5 minutes, ignoring our requests... of course there is a good waitress but she is so kesian running everywhere in the shop as if she is the only waitress working. ai... sigh... since that visit in September... I think I wont visit Sushi Mentai very soon. ok... one of the reasons is I m not in Seremban... second is i just hope their service will be slightly better the next time I came in....

The amount I ate by my own (okla plus another person) during my second visit. cause that time is just so yummy with a lot of choices of sushi mentai, so fresh and the service is good.

From facebook, noticed that there is more and more Japanese restaurant opening in Seremban. The newest is Azuma and there will be another one opening real real soon. huh? is all the restaurant business so good. Maybe i should open one too (if i have the money).

From Auzzie From Ick

This post should be dated back more than a month. =DD but i conveniently post it until now as there is a lot of pending posts. T.T why I dont have time to post anything? PORTFOLIO!!!! The 20 plus pages thing is torturing me and it is going to continuously torture me for the next 5 months.

Lets talk something happy. =) These are some cute stuffs from auzzie that Ick posted to MH and she past them to me.

That was how i pronounce it when I first see it. This is so so so so cute!!! I will never used them to erase anything, not like I will be erasing anything since what i do now is sliced it off everytime i wrote something wrong. =) arent them looks yummy? =D i like the hamburger one the most and you can actually detached them. (eg. the hotdog can be detached to 3 parts --> bread, hotdog, salad). =D

2. A Bookmark. More specific, A GOLD one.
Or the most specific. a golden COLOR one. Haha~ featuring some important buildings of Australia. I only recognize the Sydney Opera House (my geography is *shakehead*). Currently it is stuck in between my Anne Frank book which is on my books table in Seremban which I dont think i will continue to read very soon cause I just dont know why little girls wrote something like that.

The beautiful elongated postcards featuring the three sisters in auzzie.... (and also a little brother at the front? hahahaha. why cant it be a baby sister huh?)

and finally this very kawaii cup coaster with a bird on it. But the bright red love is more prominent. At first I read it "EMO". =___________= am i so emo that i deserve it? or is it because he wants me to be emo??
lol... anyway... 2-3 days later only i found out that it is actually "EMU" a bird. =P

Thanks for the awesome gift =) much much appreciated and loved~ =)

Thank you~

Greetings from Germany

From Kathrin Jauch showing a castle in Germany.... the name is Dragons Rock near Bonn. lol... =D +D

This castle looks as if it has a lot of stories to tell. =)

Sorry for the delay to upload and thanks for the beautiful castle. It looks like a castle which would likely appear in a stormy night with people running towards the cliff. Adventurous!!!

The things that my stomach dislike

My mouth is non picky, it can accept nearly every kind of food. But my stomach is very picky. Sometime if I ate something that is not in its favorite list. It will throw tantrum causing me to have nausea, vomiting and dyspepsia.

Here is some list of food that I would really love to eat but cant. =( stupid stomach.

1. FRESH oyster
Yea. Such a waste I cannot eat this delicacy. The first time i ate them in a buffet, I end up with severe vomiting and nausea the next day. =( The other time after I having a oyster shot. I end up with another bouts of vomiting, fever. abdominal pain and nausea. =(  so bye bye FRESH oyster. The only way I can eat you is to cook you. =( no more juicy oyster with the taste of sea.

2. Fresh milk
Powdered milk, condensation milk do not cause any problem to me.... but fresh milk yes. Especially I drink in big bouts and it is cold. The first time I drank a fresh milk... I finish the whole 1L carton in one day. At the particular night I have vomiting, diarrhoea and nausea. So now I can only drink hot milk or powdered milk. For fresh milk... I can only drink like half a cup each time only. =(

3. Tea

Chinese tea is ok... Only the red tea (eg. Lipton, BOH)... 3 years ago, I try drinking a whole cup of plain tea to keep myself awake but I end up with vomiting and dyspepsia for the 2 days. So I tell myself everytime I shall add some milk into it. Too bad... it doesnt work well even with the milk. Yesterday I have a cup of tea with a lot of milk. After that I have dyspepsia, nausea and vomiting... so good right?

Now... I must restrict myself from tea... =( my Lipton still have 22 tea bags left inside. Who would like to have it?

Just ate the medicine prescribed by a doctor... no more vomiting but I can still feel the dyspepsia and nausea. T.T super tired even after I slept for almost 2 hours in the afternoon... Maybe the drug is sedative.

Should finish up my first part of my portfolio... Please dont fall sick. Please dont fall sick. I just recovered from a cold. Dont make me fall ill again.

Saturday, August 11, 2012

Oh well. Great!! I have warn my uterus and my brain and my hands but i forget to warn the virus and bacteria not to come and find me. So now... i m down with flu (blocked nose) and fever and a bit of sore throat.

Felt like something is draining my energy away from me. Plan to prepare for my OSCE (practical exam during the 3 days break in between of exam) but now 2 days has passed and i still feel sick... =/ Dont know what to do now. I just hope that... I can pass the exam... and  i dont look too sick or have severe mental block during the exam. =)

anyway... i found out i m not those very dedicated doctor who can work even when they are terribly sick... when i m sick... even just a little cold... my mind will went blank and u will see me stoning or blanking out.

ai... sigh... slightly emo. =/ but nvm la... at least getting better now after the doctor's prescription although the prescription does not really follow to the rules that i learnt. hee hee. =) but well... who cares... if he gave me no block nose and lesser blanking out, it is a good prescription. =D

Good luck to me... cause so many ppl is working so hard for the OSCE and i think i m the only one who cant work hard even i want to work hard. =/

Amithaba again

I still remember i wrote this post before my EOS 7. What I want to tell my body now is basically what is written there. and tough up guys!!! cause this is a even tougher war compared to last time. =(

I hate MEQ cause i cannot recheck my answer but it is good in a way... cause in real life there is no turning back.

and i dont know why i always flung my OSPE although I think i know the answer so i m not looking forward to it.

OSCE next week is not pleasant too... cause now is all about counselling, required somebody like me to counsel a patient is like a coconut trying to talk to a human. ahahah....

Anyway... I just want to do my best. so brain dont have thought block, hand and mouth please synchronize with the brain. Uterus... or endometrium i dont know what to do with you cause i cannot control you. you can shed blood but please dont come with discomfort or pain... even you really really want to make me feel what you feel... please choose a day that i m not sitting for exam. thank you~

haha~ so last time is a 0.0 that i got distinction. seriously is a miracle and I dont think miracle will happened twice. Plus i seriously saw a lot  of better ppl that deserve it more than me (it is sincere from my heart. not some sweet talking) i know myself... i m seriously under prepared this time. but whatever la. i just want to pass with a not so bad result than can already!!! haha.

ok. Good luck to you and everyone of us!!! aza aza fighting!!! =)

Uncle Jang, Ampang Branch

Swen (and YH) took me here and she was very cute, praying the whole way from Seremban to KL (esp when we are stuck in the smart tunnel for 1 hour!!! wtf) that the restaurant wont run out of chicken. Hahaha~

So when we reached Uncle Jang, Ampang Branch, is around 8.30 le. >< so late... i cant feel my stomach at that time. The restaurant is pretty filled and it smells smoke (food smoke) =DD omg. so i predicted that i will smell like the food after i get out of it. They do provide a red apron to  protect ur clothes from the smoke... but i dont think it help much. As if u will b happier if only ur face and ur hair smell like smoke but ur clothes dont plus i hate wearing other things on me when i m eating.

So Uncle Jang is famous of Dak Galbi. A Korean stirfry dish.
It works like this. A big fry pan in the middle. They throw in massive amount of cabbage, marinated chicken, rice cake, sweet potato and chili sauce and stir fry it. =D of course you dont need to stir or fry it. the waiter will help you and what you need to do is wait and eat!!

This is how it looks like after it is cooked. =) It is quite heaty if u eat it like this as it is stir fry and there is a lot of chili although the one that we ordered are original, non spicy one. Luckily we didnt order the spicy one. ><

It tastes fresher if you wrap it up with the lettuce. =) or add in some onion, garlic or kimchi.

If you think that you are not filled. you can always order extra dishes to be cook with (eg. mushroom, ramen, rice cake, sweet potato and etc).

Later when you finish half or maybe 2/3 of the big pan of food, you can order fried rice. Again, what you need to do is wait and eat. =D

This is the fried rice. Lol... I get tired of chewing the hot and heaty food and gave up eating half way. N i drank the most water that I can drink that night. Luckily i didnt get any epitaxis. =)

The garlic and the chili sauce and the lettuce to wrap the dish up.

Onion which taste very nice, not so offensive like the usual onion. I think it is because of the sauce that it is dip in.

Opinion of this restaurant. Must try!!! it is worth trying but as I said... Korean food is not my cup of tea. haha~ so for better opinion. Please refer to here or the facebook of the restaurant. =)

Dubu Dubu Korean Restaurant, Midvalley

I know I shouldnt blog this if I cant remember anything else other than i have taste this food. swt... I think it is 2 months ago or mayb 1 month. Man... my memory is getting worse as the days go and my finals is coming. T.T Sob... How la? *panic*

Went to Dubu Dubu Korean Restaurant as someone has not try Korean food and conveniently class it in the "dont like food" category... lol... not like I love Korean Food but... i do like to make people to try things out (within my limit one la).

So i ordered my only favorite Korean food. Bimbimbap =D which I dont remember how much it costs... vaguely under Rm20 excluding tax and service charge.
You need to mix the chilli sauce and the rice urself. I added all the chili into it.... >< too confident that i have upgrade my "stand spiciness" level... but failed... i m puffing and drinking my water the whole session. =D but the chicken is very nice (smooth) =) and it doesnt spoil my love towards bimbimbap. Not the best i have but still it is good!! =)

The food that the conveniently-class-sth-that-havent-being-try-before-in-the-dislike-category person's meal. pua... so long. I forget the name... It is a set... And again I cant remember the price.
The chicken is very silky (they used sunsilk to bath the chicken), smooth and full of onion taste. =D i love onion and garlic. I dont mind bad breath. lol...

Conclusion is... it is a worth try restaurant if you want a fast and sort of cheaper Korean food.

Located at Ground Floor, Midvalley, right after Guardian Pharmacy.

Note to myself: jot down the name of the food and also the price next time since I wont remember anything after like.. 1 week?
