Hello from Adelaide

Belated Merry Christmas from Adelaide, South Australia.

The stamps is of Christmas Island. Crabs turtles and coconut

and a little cute owls sticker from Cheryl. Yay. We both like the same bird.
Cheryl said that there is a bush fire now and the recent one cause some death. Hope everything is fine. Keep yourself safe from easily light things. World temperature is going up and I think something ought to be done about it. Wish that your summer is not too hot.

Bonjour from France

A water lily postcard from France. Thank you Francoise for this delicate postcard. I love lily. they are so calm and pure.

Francoise bought this card from a postcard store. So nice~~ How I wish Malaysia has a postcard store. Usually i bought my postcard from souvenirs store, some bookstore has it but very very rare. If i want to buy some different and funky one. I may need to go online. And they didnt come in cheap. With all the inflation rate and my non increasing salary, find it a bit hard to send out too much postcards nowadays. Hope someone will bring in some good and unique postcards to sell in Malaysia.

The beautiful mansion.

Osiyo Tsohiju from United State

"OSIYO TSOHIJU" meaning "How are you?" in Cherokee. Cherokee is the second largest native Indian tribe in USA. This card is from Rose. =) Thanks Rose for the card featuring laughing gull. Why is it called laughing gull? cause the gull will laugh all day long =DDD. haha. Just kidding actually i dont know why it is called laughing gull.

Ok, so according to Wikipedia, it gets it name as it makes high pitched sound that sound like laughing "Ha...Ha... Ha..." And the feathers around it heads changed color as the season change (as featured above).

And Christmas is coming in 4 days time. =)) So Merry Christmas!!! I like this stamp featuring the ring of Christmas. I like this one which looks very traditional with pine and red ribbon to decorate it.

Thanks Rose for the stamps and card.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone. =)

Nadeje Cakehouse and Satay Celup Malacca

Had a short trip with my parents to Malacca on Deepavali Day. Went to their mall. Cause it is quite hot outside to go to tourisy area and all the tourist spots are FULL, yea man FULL of ppl. People nowadays can travel so much easier compare to last time or has the population just sprout super fast for the past 10 years. I dont remember there was so many tourist when I visit Malacca when I am in  primary school.

Must visit in Malacca for me:
Nadeje Cakestore, Malacca. There used to have one branch in Dataran Pahlawan but I cannot find that particular branch this time. So I went to the main branch located next to Plaza Mahkota.

They have refurnish the place. Very nice and cozy. And there is so many flavors now. Hope I bring more people here so can order more flavor and share out.

Anyway we ordered:
The dark brown one: Orange cocca (my papa one)
The light brown with tinge of yellowish: Original flavor (my mom)
The green with dotted in between: Green tea with azuki (mine. =) I am a big fan of matcha now)

Which one is the best? The original one. Although I love the matcha one too. But no other flavor can compare the smoothness, the fragrance, the slight bouncy and the creamy taste of the original. So far I still think the original is the best. =)

One piece is RM12.60 (tax included). Luckily it does not have any branch in Seremban. If not I will splurge a lot of money on this cake (per month) and grow fat. lol.

And visited satay celup!!! I think the shop we visited is called.... Ban Xiang Lou? Something xiang in the middle. No queue. Ya!!! Most likely we are really early cause we went there at 4 plus nearly five.

Pick your favorite food from the fridge. Do not put it back after you take it out. RM 0.90 per stick (unless written other price on it).
The sauce is boil over again and again. So far other people sake dont put eaten or bitten food back inside the pot. The sauce is best with fried foochok cause the foochok or the fried taufu will absorbed the sauce. When you bite your whole mouth are filled with the ncie satay sauce.

But... this satay celup not really filling la. Cause after like 5 sticks (for me), it started to get jialak and I dont want to eat anymore.

Lol.... That concludes my Malacca trip. Wish can visit more famous food spot but my phone dont have enough data. Next time la. =)

p/s: tummy growling, mouth drooling cause seeing all those food!!!

Siniawan night market, Kuching

Another good memory of Kuching. =) Siniawan Night Market. Boy boy trying to cool down my emotional state so he brings me to somewhere outside Kuching.

Siniawan night Market is only there at Friday and Saturday from 6 to 11pm.
Siniawan is a small town and the night market is there not too long ago to boost the economic. And indeed it helps. =)

It has only one street. Short, very short compare to Cheras nightmarket or even Seremban one. But it fill with food and people.
And a lot of red lantern with old buildings. Bringing you back to time.=) If you are interested in singing K in front of a lot of people. You can paid to sing. haha~ yea no sing to be paid. lol

Food Time!!!!
Oyster in scramble eggs. Canto style =))This is always my favorite. The seafood taste of oyster with fragrance of egg. Yum~~ Sorry Kuchingite~ but i dont like the typical fried oyster in Kuching which is a big piece of crispy pancake with oyster on it. I prefer this version!!! with a lot of spring onion. =))

Oh~~~ Add on bbq pork =))) hee hee hee~ Oily, sinful but tasty. bleh~ thinking of this, make me drool but i should stay away from it. my Tum tum is growing bigger although my weight is reducing.

Si Da Tian Wang. Stir fried vegetable in belacan. T.T so touch when i taste this dish. Kuching usually dont cook their vege like this. Kangkung, long beans, lady fingers and brinjal cook in belacan. Spicy!!! but you cant stop from taking another bite. Best serve with rice!!

Grill sambal sotong. Yea baby. I love squid. So boy boy order this for me. =) lol my cholesterol said thanks to him it's army is growing stronger and stronger.

BBQ chicken wing. Have very frequent craving for this at the last few months in Kuching. I like the taste of honey being grill. Especially love the mid part of the wings cause it is so juicy with enough BBQ skin to cover ur every bite. =) *drool* sigh. It is so sinful to write this at night.

Mutton stew with bitter gourd. Dont like the smell of mutton. But i like the marrow. Soft and jelly like. hahaha~ But others said this is good. Keep you warm.

BBQ pork for my dear.  =) Good to go with chili sauce and rice.

There is not much nightmarket in Kuching. For typical nightmarket like the one in west malaysia. This is the first and only one I have being. Love all the food there cause it tastes nearly like my hometown food. =) Recommend to walk along the river if you go there before sunset. Beautiful scene, good place to take pictures. and there is quite  a number of food stall.

Nana's Green Tea, Midvalley

One of the things I like when boy boy around is he will try to feed me with food I like. =) Although I dont really eat that much but it is still a pleasure to share food with the one you love. =)

Tried Doriyaki from Nana's Green Tea in Midvalley.

It is a small shop at the top floor of Midvalley. They are specialized in green tea but all their green tea products are ice cold. Not good for me that time as I was having really bad flu. Opted for this sweet dessert.

Pancake. Can choose paste + fillings.
Paste: red bean, black sesame, chocolate
Fillings: salted butter, strawberry and one more cant remember

Each pancake is RM6

We chose Salted butter with red bean paste. The pancake come in peeping hot. =DDDD Yumzzz~ sweet red bean paste and salty butter. Heavenly combination. But... I just hope it is a bit bigger cause it finish in a blink of eyes.

Next time I will try their green tea parfait. =)

Hello from Taiwan

This is a post that I want to share. Yeap. It is postcrossing again. But wait. This card is different. It is painstakingly self design and printed out by Abby (Ying Tzu) from Miaoli, Taiwan.

Looks. So cute. It is Alice in the wonderland. There is the hare with a stopwatch, the mystery cat, the cards and teatime.

There is even a logo for it at the upper right side. The things that is missing is the Mad Hatter and the Queen. But this card is so pretty~~~ Printed on good quality paper too.

The right side is just a fake stamp with Alice in the Wonderland card soldier as theme. The bear is a real stamp. Haha it is the famous Taiwan black bear.

At the lower corner there is detailed too of the theme. So nice~ i really love detail. I dont know why I am attracted to them but I can just stare at them for very very long time.

Another detail. =))))))

Thank you Ying Tzu for the postcard. It is one of my favorite now. =))

Happy Deepavali+Fishy fishy

Happy Deepavali to every Indian friend I have. May the lights u light up today shine upon you till the rest of your life. so that all of us wont be lost.

Actually I feel quite lost now. I admit I have a reasonably good life. A good job, a good family and a so far good body. But there is something missing and something horribly wrong which I dont know where and I feel so insecure and lost. I try a lot of ways to tone it down but it still the same. I get irritated easily. I preferred to shut myself away from everyone.

Boy boy really like fish, I dont know why. Who care they are dead or alive. I think he is a cat re carnation.

3 little gold fish and a black little fish. Erm... all of them died of unknown reason... mayb the water is not clean enough (but we do change it every week). First their color change, then they just die of one by one.

Boy boy get very upset for quite a long time. Well. If I dont have to worry about work or that i have "waste" my time staring at fish. I dont mind sit in a aquarium and stare at them the whole day. Watching them swim rather relax in the tank. sigh...

Matsu Japanese Restaurant Seremban

It is hard to find good Japanese Restaurant in Seremban 10 years ago. Going to Sushi King is a big thing cause where can I find japanese food --> sushi king and only there. Until Matsu appeared I didnt know japanese food can have so much varieties and so delicate. =))

Matsu is the first Japanese restaurant in Seremban (correct me if I am wrong) beside sushi king. It is some high class restaurant for me and it is still (yea yea. I know KL got more delicate and more expensive Japanese restaurant).

Revisit it after 3 years not in Seremban and wow. It is still good. The atmosphere is still very Japanese with a lot of Japan deco. The menu has grow thick and the price has increase too (maybe due to GST and exchange rate).

After sitting at the table flipping through the menu for very long time (cause want to find something delicious, worth the price and best if can test a lot of things). Finally decided on the below!!!

Avocado milkshake RM10.80

Have always adore avocado. Love the creamy and milky taste when it is serve with sushi. But I dont know how to choose the right avocado and my avocado always taste raw. So leave it to expert hand. This glass of avocado shake+chocolate is ok, very rich and creamy. Not icy. =) haha I think it can serve as a meal itself. =D will order it if i come to matsu again or i want to go diet.

Cawanmushi.
I always love cawanmushi. This is a good cawanmushi. The egg is smooth and silky and infused with the fragrane of soup and shitake mushroom =) yum~ inside there is crab roll, chicken meat and gingko. Eating it very slowly cause I really hope it doesnt end.

My main course: Salmon Special Bento 2 RM31.80
There put there it is promotion and i wanted to eat something hot, with vege and has salmon. So this one came in.
From left lower (clockwise)
1. Noodles cook in shio soup with meatball, spring onion and konbu. The soup tastes MSG but after adding the chilli flakes it instantly taste much better. Meatball is the soft type. =) ate all of it.
2. Salmon sashimi. As weird as it sound. I like salmon sushi more than sashimi cause of the rice. It enhance the taste of salmon. Best if it comes with the Japanese soya sauce. Make the salmon taste much more sea like
3. SALMON SUSHI with yellow ginger.=DDDD i will eat the rice first with soya sauce. Then only I munch on the salmon. finally a piece of ginger and I m ready for the next sushi. =DD As you can see the salmon slice is quite thick here.x2-3 times thick from those salmon sushi you get from jusco. =) and it is red orangey, fresh and juicy. =DDDD
4. watermelon.
5. Salad. This is the biggest surprise. At first I was like pfffttt. Plain vege again with a lot of thousand island sauce. As i dig in beside what you see aboe, sauce, tomato (there is one tomato cut into rabbit form), cucumber. Underneath there is 3 slice of fresh salmon (thinner than my sashimi and sushi one) but still fresh salmon!!! Plus crispy salmon skin which add so much points for this salad. Thumbs up for it. =)))))) AIyoo~~ i really hope i can eat this everyday.

Total damage: RM49.67 (include 10%service tax and 6%gst). I dont mind paying the 10% if the service is good and theirs is good. But haha... the meal is worth the price but sigh how la my salary still the same so only can eat this type of meal once in a blue moon lo.

p/s: unless someone want to treat me la *winkwink*

I did write about Matsu at one  and two. Both four years ago. haha. I think Matsu has improved. i do like my recent meal with them.

Hello from Russia

Natalia from RUssia sent me this cozy postcard:
A cat sitting beside his warm fireplace, with a blanket and a warm cup of drinks. ooooohhh... A book on the coffee table beside. Can  you see how satisfied the cat look? His face spell "oooooh. This is life." He even let his enemy, the rat sit by its leg. It is sure very comfortable.
hahaha

If not I m in a tropical country and worsen by haze, i would like to do what the cat do. To enjoy slow life instead of running around like a no head chicken.

stamps from Russia. =)))

Thank you Natalia. =)

Hello from Russia

Received 4 postcards from Russian in a go. =D haha. But I think is different area of Russia. Will post them here one by one.

First to go is:

Asya, from Siberia, Russia send me this beautiful view of artic mountain. The postcard is so cold yet so beautiful with the pink purple sky.

Hee hee. And I just know that Siberia is part of Russia. I thought it is one country by its own. Guess I need to study my geography and history more.

The stamps... Again. Cannot read Russian. Anyone kind enough to decode it for me. The right looks like a symbol of haguar. And the left.... at the first glance looks like someone going for their dental checkup but second thought is the person is actually donating blood.

Thank you Asya for the beautiful postcards and stamps. =)

Kom Piah, Kuching

Some snacks that I miss a lot in Kuching. Something hot, something salty, something fragrance and something floury. Yes!!! I love flour products a lot!!!!

And it is Kompiah!!!! (guang bing 光饼)

Ahem ahem. There is a story behind this bread?biscuits? It is said that long long time ago when FuZhao ppl travel to Malaya by sea, they are very poor to buy bento or good food. The journey is long with very little food. The mom and wife at home want to ensure that their husband or children has enough food till they reach Malaya. they make this round little biscuits?bread? and string it up in the middle (thats why it has a hole in the middle and look like donut) for them to tied it around their neck or waist.

So yea... initially KomPiah is just a bread?biscuits? but now it is not serve plain. We sandwich it with minced meat.
=DDDDD

1 bite (best serve when hot), The peeping hot taste of floor and sesame first flooded ur mouth then came the hot juicy minced meat flowing onto your tongue. =DDD you go "aiyo aiyo very hot a!!!' But gulp the whole thing down with full sastifaction.

For me, I can eat 3 KomPiah for my tea, best taken with cold coconut water. =D oooh wah!!! Nice afternoon tea. hee hee hee =)

My best KomPiah i have is at a hawker stall right behind Tzu Chi, kuching. You need to walk up the stairs, it is at the back, facing the padang. =) the coconut water stall is just at the corner of it. =) cold, refreshing and big cup.

Aha... I miss them. =) It is one of my comfort food beside kaya balls in Kuching.
