Cai Wei, Kuching

I love this dish, in Seremban we called it Da Cai 大菜 or Suan Cai 酸菜. But it is more widely know as Cai Wei 菜尾. Usually appeared during Chinese New Year when you have a lot of leftover and doesnt know what to do with it.

Just go to the market, buy some DaCai, Asam and Dry Chili. Throw everything inside and cook and poooofff, a delicious, sour and spicy vege appeared... in the wok.

Found this in the last month in Kuching, behind a shop called Geylang.
The shop is a chicken, cha siew and siew yuk shop. and to my surprise they sell this

wah~~~~~ so happy when see it. Make me more homesick. Definitely, with this RM3.50 a bowl, I can gobble down 2 bowl of rice.

Hee hee but not healthy with a thick layer of oil floating on it.

And their chicken, siew yuk and cha siew rice is west malaysia style which is more salty and not sweet like the typical kuching one. Luv them~

Do try but do not ask me the location~ i can bring u there but i dont know what is the name of the place.

I found the receipt for the restaurant:

It is I.P.H Roasted Cafe
No. 6 Jalan Sekana
93350 Kuching Sarawak

Recommended their Duck rice, siew yoke, chicken rice and also this Cai Wei Soup. Oh, they called it chinese mustard. lol

Extra pictures:
Mustard soup. Siew yoke rice n top is char Siew n chicken rice. Yum yum.

Clearer photo. :))

Comfort food #2 roti canai

Haha. Since I m missing Kuching. I will post something about it.

Despite I can't get used to the food there. I still miss them since I come back.

This is one of them. Roti canai at a corner shop just opposite of wisma satok.
Cook by Mamak in hot frying pan. Came out peeping hot n fill with fragrance of a cook egg n onion.

However, the killer is the dial (sauce). Hahaha. Mayb I just like potato starchy texture.

One of my comfort food when I m blue.
